Nasutoceratops

"That's an herbivore, Nasutoceratops." "How do you know?" "Because of the horns!"

Description:

The Prehistoric equivalent of a Longhorn, the Nasutoceratops was one of the first species introduced after the catastrophic events at Isla Nublar and the Lockwood Manor in 2018. This fairly sized Ceratopsian sports long, forward facing horns that slowly curve upwards. The species was first seen in 2019 during the unusual encounter at the Big Rock National Park against an Allosaurus. A family of three members was seen, consisting of one male and a female, alongside their young.
Due no explicit mentions, the origins of the Nasutoceratops are still unknown, none were seen to be living on Isla Nublar, nor to be sold inside the Lockwood Manor. And without a specific date, it's hard to imply if Biosyn was responsible for the cloning of the Nasutoceratops one year after the incidents or not. Despite that, following Jurassic World Dominion (2022), we see the population began to increase over the years, sadly thanks to illegal breeding facilities to either sell the young, or to adquire their natural resources such as bone and meat.

Size Estimates:

Male: 2.8m Tall 7.5m Long
Female: 2.7m Tall 7.2m Long
Infant: 1.1m Tall 1.9m Long

Did you know?

Nasutoceratops was the first Dinosaur in the JW Movies to show a Female, a Male and an Infant together as a family, heavy sexual dimorphism wasn't shown before.

Habitat & Geographical Ranging:

The first sightings of Nasutoceratops were in Northern California, inside the Big Rock National Park alongside an adult Allosaurus in 2019. Most wild sightings of the Ceratopsian are within the North American continent, ironically its fossil record locality. More specifically in Canada and at the states of California, Nevada and Colorado inside the US.

The horned animal can also be seen to live inside the Biosyn Valley in the Dolomites Mountains, Italy. While larger populations, specifically of young individuals, were once seen to be contained inside an Illegal Breeding Facility located in Nevada. They were rescued and transported to a DFW Outpost in Pennsylvania.

Individual Variation:

The Sexual Dimorphism is strong for Nasutoceratops, Males have been observed to be larger than the Females in length and height. Those also sport significantly longer horns, pointing directly forwards, in a way similar to Longhorn's. The Males also have bigger mouths, with no cheeks present. The frill extends further back unlike the Female's, including more prominent spikes. The Males of the species also present a bulkier body-build, with differences in their characteristic red patterning on their backs.
