Description:

Peloroplites, meaning "Monstrous heavy one", is a species of Ankylosaurian Herbivorous Dinosaur from the Late Cretaceous period, it was small and fully armored in spikes and osteoderms along its back and tail. The species was first seen at Isla Nublar in 2018 during Claire Dearing's Rescue Operation from the erupting Mt. Sibo.

In 2018, we see two dead specimens at Isla Nublar, showing the consequences of Nublar's abandonment over the years, the first specimen is seen in an open valley, a decomposing carcass with skin remains still in there. The second specimen is seen nearby Blue's nest on the north of the Island, a full skeleton with no soft-tissue material left.

Peloroplites was by no means ever mentioned to be a publicly-known Species from Jurassic World, alongside others such as Ouranosaurus, Monolophosaurus and Teratophoneus. Chances are, that the species lived in the Restricted Zone of the park, located up North, the same region where we see the 2 corpses. The intends of having the species away from public Attractions is unclear, it is also unclear if Peloroplites fell into extinction as we never see a living specimen since then.

Size Estimates:

Aprox. 2.1m Tall
Aprox. 6.7m Long

Did you know?

InGen's Peloroplites may or may not be very close to being genetically pure, as its corpses found in 2018 share great resemblance to Skeletal Mounts.

Habitat & Geographical Ranging:

As we never see a living specimen, it's impossible to assume what was Peloroplites' preferable Habitat conditions, the best we could assume is the tropical valleys and forests within the Restricted Zone, only place where Peloroplites can be seen. The Geographic Range of Peloroplites is also low, only seen once at Isla Nublar back in 2018, it's unclear if the species ever made it into the Mainland or Isla Sorna.
