Alongside Apatosaurus, Diplodocus was part of the family Diplodocidae, that was entirely cut out from the game.
It's presumed that Diplodocus and Apatosaurus were both cut in favor of keeping less species, and due the possible better known Camarasaurus and Brachiosaurus.
Despite not having any concept art published, certain artists and modders kept the legacy of Diplodocus by doing fanarts and mods that added the species into the game.
