Pleasing Tourists

"Five-star dinosaurs please everyone, especially those mainstream tourists who aren't as informed as, say, dino nerds. Triceratops is one of five, five-star dinosaurs that you have access to at Jurassic Park. As such, it's a treasured commodity. Besides its popularity, Triceratops can entertain dino nerds and thrill seekers at the same time. Triceratops will hold its own in any pen, so you don't have to worry about frequent deaths when you place it in a carnivore pen with Tyrannosaurus, Albertosaurus, and Velociraptors. Fun lovers would rather not see it in engaged in combat, so a better fit for them is Triceratops with Parasaurolophus, Styracosaurus, and Torosaurus."

Sexual Dimorphism

It is extremely unlikely but still an interesting possibility that, the early Triceratops' texture, in which was a shade of light yellowish grey, could've represented a different sex for Triceratops while the dark brown one represented the other. Despite none of that being confirmed or having any word, it's still an interesting possibility that may or may not have passed through JPOG's development.

Trivia

  • Triceratops is the largest Ceratopsian of the game, just like in real life.

  • JPOG's Triceratops coloration doesn't represent any specific movie coloration, just like Corythosaurus.

  • Earlier in development, Triceratops had a light yellowish grey coloration, briefly similar to Jurassic Park III's Female Triceratops.

  • It's one of, if not the only herbivore that needs High Security needs.

  • Like other movie species, Triceratops doesn't make any movie sounds.

  • Due the absent of clean movie audios from Triceratops on the internet, JPOG's Trike calls started to be used by fans to represent the dinosaur's calls for years, becoming a somewhat iconic piece of media.

  • Triceratops is the only dinosaur in which the Concept Art reveals two individuals rather than one.
