Pleasing Tourists
"Who wouldn't be happy about seeing a Tyrannosaurus, so long as a maximum-security fence stood between human and dinosaur? Every mainstream tourist will quake at the mere mention of its name in your park. Thrill seekers will go ballistic if it runs around in a pen with other dinosaurs. Once dino nerds shake the awe out of their eyes, they'll want ol' rex teamed up with dinosaurs from the late Cretaceous, such as Triceratops, Pachycephalosaurus, and Edmontosaurus (the favored prey of the Tyrannosaurus)." ~Prima's Official Strategy Guide

Sexual Dimorphism
Although there's no signs of Sexual Dimorphism for the Tyrannosaurus, it's clear that the skin from the final game is meant to represent the Males from The Lost World and Jurassic Park III. There's no signs of a brown skin for an hypothetical Female ever found.

Trivia
-
Ironically, just like the game The Lost World: Trespasser, Tyrannosaurus' early skin was a bright vibrant pine green representing the Male, both games ended up with toned down shades of green.
-
Tyrannosaurus is the only dinosaur in the game in which we know the exact species: Tyrannosaurus rex. To stay with accurate info on this site, all other dinosaurs are labelled as "sp."
-
Tyrannosaurus is the icon of the Large Carnivores class.
-
A Female brown Tyrannosaurus can be seen in the Large Carnivores Class' Icon.
-
Originally, the Trex didn't have actual eye models, instead, the eye was painted on the 2D Texture.
-
Despite being the most powerful and largest carnivore that ever walked the Earth in real life, Carcharodontosaurus and Spinosaurus take those spots, respectively in JPOG.
-
Early versions of the Trex model were much skinnier looking which implies a possible Female model.
-
The Trex Walk and Run cycles are presented in many other Theropod dinosaurs such as Velociraptor, Carcharodontosaurus and Spinosaurus.
-
Despite all JPOG dinosaurs having unique animations, the Trex was a base rig for most, if not all Carnivores in the game.
-
For some reason, the Concept Art Tyrannosaurus has osteoderms on its back, a feature never presented in Tyrannosaurids.
